The Hardmoors 26.2: Goathland takes place on Saturday 8 November 2025 in Goathland, North Yorkshire. It is one race in the Hardmoors 26.2 series of six trail marathons held in the North York Moors and on the Cleveland Heritage Coastline. Entries opened on Sunday 8 December 2024 and closed on Friday 24 October 2025. There were 388 participants entered. The event is organized by Hardmoors 26.2 Series Ltd. Distances and entry fees
- Trail Marathon (Goathland) - 27.5 miles, £47 attached / £49 unattached
- Half Marathon - £34 attached / £36 unattached
- Trail 10k - £28 attached / £30 unattached
Age limits are: Trail Marathon 18 years or older, Half Marathon 16 years or older, Trail 10k 12 years or older.
Course and requirements
Courses are circular. Routes are not signed, so competitors must carry the printed race route description and map provided; downloadable maps are available. The Goathland Trail Marathon includes about 4,800 feet of ascent. Time limits are 9 hours for the Trail Marathon, 6 hours for the Half Marathon, and 4 hours for the 10k.
Compulsory kit must be carried or worn for the full duration of the event and includes a waterproof jacket with taped seams, hat, gloves, whistle, spare long-sleeved top, 500 ml of water or drink, printed map and route description, survival bag and foil blanket, head torch or torch (full runners only), and a method to attach the race bib.
