Heaton Harriers Memorial Races 2026
The Heaton Harriers Memorial Races take place on Sunday 8th November at Newcastle Town Moor. The senior event is a 10 km road race that incorporates the 2026 NEMAA 10K Championships. Junior races for U12 to U18 act as NECAA 3K Championship races and NECAA medals will be awarded to the first three finishers.
Race programme includes:
- 1 km Mini Moor race for U10 runners
- 3 km junior races for U12, U14, U16 and U18
- 10 km senior race open to those over 16
All races are chip timed by Timing Up North, including junior events. Race numbers must be collected on the day from Race HQ at the Royal Grammar School, NE2 4DX; numbers will not be posted. Race HQ is about a five minute walk from the start and finish; the Lambton Road entrance provides access. Competitors and spectators are asked to park responsibly; Jesmond Metro is a short walk from the event area.
Entry fees are listed as follows: junior races £5 plus fee, senior 10K £23 attached or £25 unattached plus fee; limited late entries may be available on the day at an extra cost. Entries from transgender athletes are accepted in line with UKA policy in force since 31 March 2023. Prize money is offered to top senior finishers and age category prizes are awarded for veteran bands; a £200 bonus is available if the overall 10K course records (male 29:32 or female 34:06) are broken.
