The 5K is a chip-timed out-and-back course that begins and ends at Black Walnut Point Park. The route follows the breakwater into nearby farmland, passes a historic church, and returns to the park. The 1 mile route follows a quiet shoreline. The course is described as very flat.
Location and race details
The race is based at Black Walnut Point Park, 4787 Black Walnut Point Rd, Tilghman, MD 21671. Packet pickup and day-of registration take place at the park parking area. Results for the 5K will be posted immediately after the race by the event timing company. Awards in the 5K include overall male and female, overall masters male and female, and 1st through 3rd place age-group awards for these ranges: 10 and under; 11-20; 21-30; 31-40; 41-50; 51-60; 61-70; 71-80; 81 and over. Proceeds support Healthy Tilghman, a non-profit offering health-oriented programs and local counseling and substance abuse services; services are available at Tilghman Methodist Church.
