Haunts & Hallows

Haunts & Hallows is a trail half marathon held by Winding Way Run Co. at First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach on October 25, 2026. The race starts and finishes near the park beach and the Cape Henry Trailhead; directions point to the First Landing State Park boat ramp and 64th Street park entrance for parking access.

The course opens with a road mile to allow the field to spread out, then continues primarily on trails with a small road connector. Runners will encounter roots, bridges, sandy sections, and rolling singletrack with approximately 300 feet of elevation gain. A four hour time limit applies to complete the course. A map and aid station information are available from the organizer.

Entry fees include an event T-shirt, a finisher beanie, post-race donuts and coffee. Top finisher awards are given to the top three male and female overall and to age-group leaders in juniors (under 21), masters (40-49), grand masters (50-59), and super masters (60 and over). A photographer will be on course and photos will be free to download.

The event is held under a permit from First Landing State Park. Winding Way Run Co. partners with AidNow and will make a donation on behalf of the event; entrants may also be offered the option to donate during registration.
