HAUNTED Salt Lake City
HAUNTED Salt Lake City offers three Halloween-themed race options at Sugarhouse Park and Emigration Canyon. The event includes the following distances:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles) down Emigration Canyon to Sugarhouse Park
- 5K out and back around Sugarhouse Park
- Kids Run (about 0.5 miles) through Spook Alley to a festive finish
The Half Marathon course travels down Emigration Canyon, passes through the Spook Alley tunnel and a themed graveyard, and finishes beneath a large inflatable pumpkin arch at Sugarhouse Park. The 5K is a fast out and back around the park. The Kids Run routes children through a decorated Spook Alley area to their own finish.
Race logistics include packet pick-up at an expo the day before, with an option for morning pickup for a fee; a photo ID is required to collect packets. The Half Marathon uses bus transportation to the start from Highland High School and does not allow self-transportation to the start. A bag drop is provided at the Half Marathon start, with retrieval at the finish.
Aid stations on the course offer electrolytes and water, with GU energy gel available on the Half Marathon at specific miles. Timing uses bib chips for chip times and gun times for overall placements. The finish area provides finisher medals, post-race food and drinks, free race photos, live music, and award presentations for overall and age group placings.
