About the race
HAUNTED Salt Lake City is a Halloween-themed set of races held in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 17, 2026. The program includes a half marathon, a 5K, and a Kids Run with themed course elements such as the Spook Alley tunnel, a skeleton graveyard, and a finish beneath a giant inflatable pumpkin arch at Sugar House Park.
Race distances:
- Half Marathon: 13.1 miles down Emigration Canyon.
- 5K: out-and-back around Sugar House Park.
- Kids Run: about 0.5 mile through Spook Alley.
The half marathon uses bus transportation to the start; there is no self-transportation to the start. A bag drop is provided only at the half marathon start and bags are retrieved at the finish. Aid stations on the half course provide electrolytes and water, with GU fuel available at mile 5 and mile 9. All races use chip timing for age-group awards; overall awards use gun time. The event includes a costume contest at the half start, finisher and award medals, free race photos, post-race food and beverages, and a finish-line celebration area with vendors and music. Packet pickup and the race expo take place the day before at Highland High School. Registration may remain open the day of the race if space allows.
