REVEL Big Cottonwood Marathon & Half Marathon : Salt Lake City, UT
The event on Sep 11, 2027 includes a marathon and a half marathon that start in Big Cottonwood Canyon and finish at Cottonwood High School in Murray, Utah. The courses move predominantly downhill alongside canyon cliffs and Big Cottonwood Creek before entering Cottonwood Heights, passing under I-215, and continuing through Holladay into Murray.

The marathon begins on Guardsman Pass, follows the Brighton Loop near the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon, and features a sustained downhill section of nearly 15 miles with an average 5% grade. The half marathon begins below the Mill D parking area and runs downhill for nearly 10 miles to the mouth of the canyon. Both courses proceed under Wasatch Boulevard, travel through the Old Mill Corporate Center area, pass through Knudsen Park in Holladay, and use local streets such as Holladay Blvd and 5600 South on the approach to the finish.
Both courses are USATF certified (marathon UT15006KH; half marathon UT23007TJD). The event is organized by Vacation Races. Included with entry are an official race shirt, a finisher medal, chip-timed results, on-course aid and support, a race expo and bib pickup, and finish-line snacks.
