Event Overview
The Hastings Half Marathon is a road race held in Hastings, East Sussex. The event takes place on an accurately measured course that is notable for its hilly profile. Participants run through the town and along the seafront, accompanied by entertainment and cheer stations positioned along the route. For the duration of the event, roads remain closed until 13:00.
The event offers two distinct distances:
- 21.1 km (Half Marathon): Open to runners aged 17 and over.
- 2 km (Mini Run): A point-to-point race for participants aged 7 to 16.
The Mini Run starts on the upper promenade near Hastings Pier and concludes at the main finish line on Sea Road. Only junior participants in the 2 km event receive medals.
Logistics and Facilities
The race starts and finishes at West Marina Gardens. Parking is available at St. Leonards Academy, which is located approximately 800 meters from the site. For those traveling by rail, West St. Leonards station is also 800 meters from the start and finish area, providing links to Tonbridge and Charing Cross.
Participants receive a race programme, a virtual goody bag, and a bespoke finishers brass upon completion. The event also provides prize money for the top five male and female finishers, with an additional prize available for breaking the existing course record.
