Harvest Moon Run
The Harvest Moon Run is a nighttime 5K run and walk held in Eureka, Missouri, through Historic Route 66 State Park. The paved course is lit with pathlighters and participants receive an Energizer headlight to help light the route and the moonlit finish.
Proceeds support the Harvest Moon Run Hunger Mission, including the Eureka-Pacific Elks Lodge Weekend Backpack Food Program and local area food pantries. The event includes a food collection called Fill a Ford with Food; attendees are asked to bring canned or boxed food items, no glass. The organizers state that 1 in 6 neighbors in the area struggle with food insecurity.
Packet pickup provides the long-sleeved signature race t-shirt, headlight, and bib number. Registration options include a tier that guarantees a long-sleeve t-shirt with the Energizer headlight and a tier that includes the headlight without a guaranteed shirt.
The event also includes youth races and age group awards. Medals are awarded to first place boy and girl winners in each age group. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
