Harvest Moon Run : Route 66 State Park, Eureka, MO
The Harvest Moon Run is the 15th annual nighttime running event held in Route 66 State Park in Eureka, Missouri on October 10, 2026. The main event is a paved, flat 5K course through the park with illuminated pathlighters and an emphasis on running or walking after dark.
The event includes a mix of races and family activities. 5K participants receive a long-sleeve t-shirt and an Energizer headlight; online registration by October 7 guarantees a shirt size. Packet pickup is available the day before at The Timbers of Eureka Recreation Center and on the event day at Route 66 State Park.
Awards include a custom Harvest Moon Run medal for the overall male and female winners and first place medals in nine age brackets, which span youth through senior categories. Several children’s fun runs are offered at no cost, and t-shirts or headlights for those runs may be obtained for an optional donation.
Proceeds benefit local hunger relief organizations including the Agape House-Pacific, Eureka Food Pantry, Feed My People-High Ridge, Peace Pantry-Cedar Hill, and the Eureka-Pacific Elks Lodge Backpack Food Program. The event collects canned and boxed food donations at the park as part of the Fill the Ford with Food effort. The Harvest Moon Run operates as a 100 percent volunteer 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
