Doomsday 5K
The Doomsday 5K is scheduled for January 1, 2027 and is organized by Terrain Trail Runners. The event takes place at Cliff Cave County Park, 806 Cliff Cave Rd, Saint Louis, MO 63129.
The course is a roughly 5K route that starts and finishes a short distance past the train tracks in the park. Runners begin on pavement for about a half mile, follow the Spring Valley Trail Outer Loop for about 1.8 miles, then return on pavement for the final half mile. Spring Valley Trail is an all-dirt trail with rolling hills, roots, and rocks; organizers describe it as beginner friendly. The course has approximately 272 feet of elevation gain. The race uses a two-hour cutoff.
Registration information includes an online option and an onsite race day registration option. Race day registration is listed at $70 and is cash only; onsite registrants receive a custom Doomsday 5K pint, which may be exchanged for a shirt if sizes remain after the race. Online registrants have choices of a cotton t-shirt, pint glass, opt-out, or a tree-planting option. All finishers receive a custom medal. Awards include credits for top male, female, and non-binary performers.
The event is cup-free as part of a sustainability policy; participants are asked to bring their own mug and mess kit for post-race coffee and snacks. The race is part of the Trail Mix Fund partnership and is open to male, female, and non-binary runners, with self-declared gender identity accepted at registration.
