Doomsday 5K
Doomsday 5K is a trail race on January 1, 2027 presented by Terrain Trail Runners at Cliff Cave County Park, 806 Cliff Cave Rd, Saint Louis, MO 63129, lower parking lot. The event is scheduled for the park and lists online registration with an entry fee of USD 65.45 and a race day registration option.
The course begins a short way past the train tracks and includes pavement for roughly 0.5 mile at the start and finish. The middle portion uses the Spring Valley Trail Outer Loop for about 1.8 miles. Spring Valley Trail is an all-dirt route with rolling hills, roots, and rocks. The total distance is 5K with approximately 272 feet of elevation gain.
Registration closes on December 27 at 11:59 PM CT. Race day registration is available on January 1 for a listed fee of $70, cash only; race day registrants receive a custom Doomsday 5K pint (can be exchanged for a shirt if sizes remain), a finisher medal, and post-race coffee and snack. Online entrants choose among a cotton t-shirt, a pint glass, or an opt-out tree planting option; all finishers receive a custom medal.
The event is open to male, female, and non-binary runners and honors self-declared gender identity without documentation. The race partners with the Trail Mix Fund to help cover registration for those who cannot afford it. Only registered participants are allowed on course. Minor registration requires using the “Register as a Guest” flow for each child; the same email may be used for multiple children. The event follows a cup-free, zero waste policy; participants are asked to bring their own mug and mess kit. Post-race coffee and snacks are provided for runners and volunteers only.
