Event overview
The Hark the Herald race is scheduled for December 12, 2026, at Angel Island State Park near Tiburon, California. The course is a loop trail that circumnavigates the island and offers panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, Alcatraz Island, the East Bay and Marin County. The field is limited to 400 participants and race pricing includes the ferry fee and processing fee.

Course and support
The course is marked with orange ribbon at trail crossings and turns. There are no aid stations on the course; aid will be available before the half marathon second loop. Runners are advised to carry water. Food and drink will be available at the finish. There is a 3.5 hour course cut off with specified pace targets; half marathoners must complete the first loop within 1 hour 30 minutes. Hikers and walkers are welcome in the 10K.
Logistics and policies
Chartered ferries depart from the Tiburon ferry dock and athletes must take this ferry to reach the race. Bibs are mailed beginning two weeks before the event; unreceived bibs may be picked up on race morning. Registrations are non refundable and non transferable; a refund protection option is available at checkout. Headphones and other audio devices are not allowed on course for safety reasons.
