Hark the Herald Half Marathon & 10K
The Hark the Herald Half Marathon & 10K takes place on Angel Island State Park, Belvedere Tiburon, California, on December 12, 2026. The event uses a hilly loop trail that circumnavigates Angel Island and offers panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, Alcatraz Island, the East Bay and Marin County. The 10K follows a single loop of about 6.5 miles. The Half Marathon completes that loop twice. The field is limited to 400 participants and race pricing includes the ferry fee and processing fee.
Distances
- Half Marathon - two laps of the island loop
- 10K - single loop, approximately 6.5 miles
The course is marked with orange ribbon where trails cross or turns are required. There are no aid stations on the course; aid will be available before the second half marathon loop and food and drink will be available at the finish. Course cut-off is 3.5 hours; half marathoners must complete the first loop within 1 hour 30 minutes. T-shirts are provided to all participants. Medals are awarded to all half marathon finishers. Personalized award ribbons for the top three male and female finishers in each age group will be mailed after the race.
Special chartered ferries operate from the Tiburon ferry dock and athletes must use the race ferry to reach the island. Spectator ferry fees apply. Headphones and other audio devices are not allowed on course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
