Hardmoors 26.2 White Horse Trail Marathon
Hardmoors 26.2 White Horse is a series event at Sutton Bank Visitor Centre near Thirsk, North Yorkshire. The event offers three trail distances: 29, 16.5 and 7, each with its own ascent and time limit. The course ascents are 3400, 1900 and 1600 feet respectively, and the corresponding time limits are 9, 6 and 4 hours. Entry is limited to 250 runners.
Entry windows open for voucher holders in May 2026 and for general entries in June 2026, with entries closing on 16 April 2027. Prices include a £2 donation to the Cleveland Way National Trail; listed fees vary by distance and UKA attachment status. T shirts are available for an extra fee.
The races are not fully taped or signed. Organisers provide downloadable maps, route descriptions and GPX files that competitors must print and carry; it is the competitor’s responsibility to navigate the course. The event is cupless, so runners should bring a cup for checkpoint and finish drinks.
Mandatory kit differs by distance. Marathon and half marathon runners must carry items such as a waterproof jacket, hat and gloves, printed route description, 500 ml fluid capacity, survival bag and foil blanket. 10k runners must carry a printed map, survival bag and foil blanket; waterproofs and fluid capacity are strongly recommended. Failure to carry mandatory kit may result in disqualification.
Prize categories include overall male and female places and age-group awards; prize giving will occur once winners have completed the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
