About the race
Hardmoors 26.2: White Horse is a set of trail races held at Sutton Bank Visitor Centre near Thirsk, North Yorkshire, on 9 May 2027. The event uses circular routes that start and finish at Sutton Bank and is part of the Hardmoors 26.2 Series.
Distances offered:
- Trail Marathon : listed as 28 miles
- Trail Half Marathon : listed as 17 miles
- Trail 10k : listed as 8 miles with 1600 feet ascent
Courses are not taped or signed for navigation. Competitors receive downloadable route descriptions and maps and are responsible for navigating the course themselves. Foot sweepers will operate on all three distances.
Mandatory kit must be carried at all times. For the Marathon and Half Marathon this includes a waterproof jacket, hat and gloves, printed route description and map, capacity to carry 500 ml fluid, a survival bag, a foil blanket, and means to attach the race number. For the 10k mandatory kit includes printed route description and map, a survival bag, a foil blanket, and means to attach the race number. Carrying a waterproof and fluid capacity is strongly recommended for the 10k.
Time limits are published as 9 hours for the Marathon, 6 hours for the Half Marathon, and 4 hours for the 10k; competitors not meeting cutoffs may be retired at checkpoints. The event does not provide plastic cups at checkpoints and does not allow dogs to run in the races.
