Ripon Round Ultra and Relay
The event is a 35 mile circular route that starts and finishes in Studley Roger in North Yorkshire. The course follows the northern section of the Ripon Rowel and crosses trail, woodland and moorland within the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The final section runs downhill through Studley Royal deer park back into Studley Roger.
The event is organised by Ripon Runners and is held under UKA rules. It is open to solo runners and relay teams. Minimum age for solo participants is 20 years. Minimum age for relay participants is 17 years. Entries are available between 3 February 2026 and 13 September 2026. Entry fees are listed as Solo: £45 affiliated and £47 unaffiliated; Relay per team: £75 affiliated and £85 unaffiliated.
Race headquarters are at Studley Roger Village Hall. Refreshments, hot food and toilet facilities are available there. The route includes four staffed checkpoints with water, savouries, sweets and cake. Additional water stations may be provided depending on weather. Toilet facilities are available at CP3, at about 19 miles. Paper cups will not be provided at checkpoints.
Mandatory equipment includes a waterproof jacket with taped seams, hat, gloves, emergency food, at least 500 ml water, a foil blanket and a route map or description. Participants should carry a fully charged mobile phone with the race director’s number saved. A time limit of 10 hours applies and cut off times operate at checkpoints.
