Hammerhead Olympic & Sprint Triathlon
The event takes place on 08/09/2026 at Camp Blanding, 5629 State Road 16 West, Starke FL 32091. It offers multiple race formats on the same day including Olympic and Sprint triathlons, aquabike, a sprint duathlon, relay options, adaptive divisions, and specialty divisions for Athena, Clydesdale, military and public safety athletes.
Course details:
- Sprint triathlon: Swim 0.3 mile, Bike 20K, Run 5K
- Olympic triathlon: Swim 1.5K, Bike 40K, Run 10K
- Sprint duathlon: Run 2 miles, Bike 20K, Run 5K
- Aquabike options: Swim plus Bike at Sprint or Olympic distances
Swim legs are held in Kingsley Lake in fresh water with a single loop swim course. Bike courses are on Camp Blanding roads with one loop for Sprint and two loops for Olympic and include rolling hills and limited traffic. Run courses are out and back with limited shade and aid stations at multiple points.
Entry to the base requires check in at the front gate and a gate pass included with the athlete packet; a non expired photo ID is required for entry. Visitors must be registered in advance to be added to the roster for gate access. No pets are allowed on base.
Awards are given three deep in all categories including 5 year age groups with overall and masters prizes. A cash prize is offered to the triathlon club with the most participants subject to a minimum of 10 members and eligibility rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
