Sombrero Ultra Running Festival (SURF) : Middleburg, FL
Sombrero Ultra Running Festival is a multi-day timed running event held at the Clay County Regional Sports Complex in Middleburg, FL (4790 Victory Lane). The festival includes a set of timed events with options that span short to multi-day formats and relay teams.
Available race formats include:
- 3 hour event on Saturday
- 3 hour event on Sunday
- 6 hour event
- 12 hour day event
- 12 hour night event
- 24 hour event
- 48 hour event
- 48 hour relay teams for 2, 3, or 4 people
The venue provides a runner's village for canopies, tents, and crew areas. RVs are permitted but there are no RV hookups; an on-site RV fee of $15 applies. Crewing from vehicles is allowed. The race is cupless; all runners must bring their own bottles, hydration vests, or collapsible cups. There is a single aid station on the loop with hydration, electrolytes including Skratch, pickle juice, and a variety of food options ranging from fruit to hot prepared items.
Medical personnel are on site for the full 48 hour period, with clinical support and physical therapy services included. Foot care services are planned and provider details are under discussion. Pacers are permitted only for the 24 hour and 48 hour events after a runner has completed 12 hours; pacers must register with race staff. Custom technical shirts and awards such as belt buckles and medals are part of the event. Registration opens April 1, 2026. There are no refunds.
