Hamilton Island Triathlon
The Hamilton Island Triathlon is a sprint triathlon held on Hamilton Island in the Great Barrier Reef on Saturday 21 November 2026. The standard course comprises a 750 m swim in Catseye Bay, a 20 km bike over three loops of the island including the airport runway, and a 5 km run that passes the marina and resort sides.
Entries close Friday 13 November 2026. Registration fees are listed for individual and team entries and a one day Triathlon Australia membership fee applies to non members. Individual competitors must be at least 14 years old and team competitors at least 12 years old as of mid November 2026. Categories include Open, Age Group divisions and Team divisions for male, female and mixed teams. Non drafting rules apply on the bike course and officials enforce race rules. Wetsuits are permitted for the swim; water temperature is expected to be approximately 23 degrees Celsius. Bike racking is compulsory and bike hire is no longer offered on the island.
Race kit collection and compulsory registration occur the day before the event at the Beach Pavilion.
