Hamilton Island Hilly Half Marathon
The Hamilton Island Hilly Half Marathon takes place on Hamilton Island on Sunday, 3 May 2026. The main individual event is a 24 km route. The course is described as rugged, with uphill and downhill sections, running along fire trails and walking tracks through the island's interior.
Participants can enter as an individual or as part of a team relay. For individual entries, the minimum age is 16 years. Team relay members must be at least 14 years old.
A separate junior race is available for children aged 4 to 15 years. This event offers three distance options: 500 m, 1.5 km, and 3 km, described as a flat and fast course.
General entry costs $135 per individual. Team member entry is $85 per person, and junior entry is $60. Entries close on 24 April 2026. Race pack collection is scheduled for Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning at the Beach Pavilion. A pre-race briefing is held before the start.
