Tassal AB Marathon Festival
The 13th annual Tassal AB Marathon Festival takes place in Airlie Beach, Queensland on 18 and 19 July 2026. The festival is a member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races and the 42.2, 21.1, 10 and 5 km courses have been formally measured by a B grade measurer, so performances on those courses can be officially recognised.
The Tassal North Queensland Championship Marathon uses a four lap off road format run on concrete footpaths and boardwalks, allowing supporters to see competitors at a single location multiple times. The program also includes a mixed relay with three-person teams requiring a minimum of one female, with each team member running 1 km. The McDonald’s Airlie Beach Foreshore Magic Mile is scheduled for the day before the main festival.
Airlie Beach is described as a tropical coastal town with marinas and a local airport that provides access to the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef. The region is served by nearby airports and road connections to major centres in Queensland.
The festival lists a range of race entries with age minimums and entry fees. The event is supported by sponsors including Tassal and several local and regional partners that contribute to the festival program. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
