Tassal AB Marathon Festival
The Tassal AB Marathon Festival will be held in Airlie Beach, Queensland, Australia on 18 and 19 July 2026. It is the 13th annual running of the festival and is a member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). The 42.2 km, 21.1 km, 10 km and 5 km courses have been formally measured by a B grade measurer, so performances can be eligible for recognized records.
The Tassal North Queensland Championship Marathon is a four lap, off road course run on concrete footpaths and boardwalks, which allows support crews to see competitors multiple times at one location. The program includes a mixed relay for three-person teams with at least one female; each team member runs 1 km. The McDonald’s Airlie Beach Foreshore Magic Mile takes place the day before the main festival.
The event lists a range of race options and age categories, including junior and primary school challenges and a corporate 5 km team challenge. Airlie Beach is located in the Whitsundays region of northern Queensland and is served by nearby airports and major roads, providing access to the local marinas and island departures. Multiple local and regional organisations are listed as sponsors of the festival. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
