Tassal AB Marathon Festival, Airlie Beach (18 and 19 July 2026)
The 13th annual Tassal AB Marathon Festival takes place in Airlie Beach, Queensland, Australia, across two days in July 2026. The festival is a member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). The 42.2 km, 21.1 km, 10 km and 5 km courses have been formally measured by a B grade measurer, so performances can be eligible for official records. Course layouts will follow the 2025 routes with minor adjustments at the starts and turn around points.
The Tassal North Queensland Championship Marathon is a four lap off‑road event run on concrete footpaths and boardwalks, allowing support teams to see competitors multiple times from a single location. A mixed relay is included in the program; teams comprise three runners with a minimum of one female, and each team member runs 1 km. The event program also includes a foreshore Magic Mile held the day before the main race day and a range of junior and community distance events.
Distances and courses include:
- 42.2 km marathon - four laps along Airlie Beach and Cannonvale foreshore
- 21.1 km half marathon - two laps around the foreshore
- 10 km run - one lap around Airlie Beach and Cannonvale foreshore
- 5 km run - two laps around the foreshore and Port of Airlie
- 2 km junior dash - two laps on the Airlie Beach foreshore
- 1 km kids run - one lap on the foreshore
- 1 km mixed relay legs - three person teams, minimum one female
The festival lists multiple sponsorship partners and operates a registration process with entry fees for each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
