Somerset Berkley Education Foundation Halloween 5K & Walk
The Somerset Berkley Education Foundation Halloween 5K & Walk takes place on October 24, 2026, at 295 South Street, Somerset, MA. The event includes both an in-person 5K run and walk and a virtual 5K option.
- 5K in-person run and walk
- 5K virtual option
The event is a fundraiser organized by the Somerset Berkley Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that awards grants to educators in Somerset and Berkley. Since 2019 the foundation has awarded more than $251,000 in grants for programs such as the arts, STEM, life skills, and educator-led projects. The foundation’s work is conducted by volunteers.
The in-person 5K begins at Pierce Beach, follows Riverside Avenue along the Taunton River, then returns to the beach along the same route. Volunteers will be stationed along the course. Race day check-in and same-day registration are available, and the event is held rain or shine. The organizer notes that refunds will not be issued because this is a fundraiser.
Participants will be offered water and race snacks. To guarantee a race shirt, registrants must sign up by October 15, 2026; a limited number of shirts may be available on race day for those who register later. Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded in multiple categories, including cash awards of $100 for the overall first female and first male, age-group prizes, teacher prizes, team prizes, and medals for children. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
