Somerset Berkley Education Foundation Halloween 5K & Walk
This event is a Halloween-themed 5K run and walk held in Somerset on October 24, 2026. It is organized by the Somerset Berkley Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that awards grants to educators in Somerset and Berkley schools for programs outside school budgets. Since 2019 the foundation has awarded more than $251,000 in grants. The event is run by volunteers and functions as a fundraiser for students and educators.
Course details note a start at Pierce Beach with a route running along the Taunton River on Riverside Avenue and returning to the beach. Volunteers will be stationed along the route. Participants will receive water and race snacks. A limited number of race shirts will be available on the day; registrants who sign up by October 4, 2026 are guaranteed a shirt.
There are in-person and virtual participation options.
Costumes are encouraged for runners and walkers, with prizes awarded in multiple costume categories. Competitive awards include a cash prize of $100 for the overall female and male winners, age-group prizes, first male and first female teacher awards, team prizes for student groups, and medals for child participants.
