US Road Running - Punta Gorda
The US Road Running event in Punta Gorda takes place at South County Regional Park. This athletic event offers three different race distances on an asphalt course, with all participants starting from the same location near the park's baseball fields. Participants can choose between the following distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon
The 5K and 10K participants utilize a 0.78-mile out-and-back route. Runners completing the 5K distance finish two laps of this out-and-back section, while those in the 10K category complete four laps. The Half Marathon uses a separate 1.09-mile out-and-back route, requiring runners to complete the circuit six times to reach the total distance of 13.1 miles.
All participants are subject to a course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes. Facilities including bathrooms are located near the starting line for runner convenience. Registration is managed through RunSignup, and there is no option for on-site registration on the day of the event. Packet pickup is conducted shortly before the race begins.
