4th of July 5K Run or Walk - Punta Gorda, FL
This event is a 3.1 miles course through Babcock Ranch with a start in front of Lee Health (42880 Crescent Loop) and a finish on the Founders Square boardwalk near the bandstand. The course uses paved roads and sidewalks. Water stations are located at the half point and at the finish. Bathrooms are available in Founders Square. Ample free parking is available near the starting area.
The event offers timed and untimed options and is part of the Babcock Ranch Summer Race Series. The timed 5K is chip-timed by Beach Bum Timing. Series registration for two or three races includes an automatic five dollar discount per race; that discount cannot be combined with age-based or club discounts.
All participants receive a finisher medal. In-person awards are presented at the bandstand area, including 1st place overall male and female by clock time, masters and older age categories by clock time, and top three male and female in age group divisions. Age groups start at 9 and under and continue through 80 plus. Awards and shirts will not be shipped; participants who do not stay for awards must arrange pick up with Babcock Ranch.
Shirts are not guaranteed after June 22, 2026 at noon; a limited number of extra shirts will be ordered but availability and sizes cannot be guaranteed.
