4th of July 5K Run or Walk
The event is a 3.1 miles run or walk held at Babcock Ranch in Punta Gorda on July 4, 2026. The course is scenic and follows paved roads and sidewalks, finishing at the Founders Square boardwalk near the bandstand. The start location is in front of Lee Health at 42880 Crescent Loop.
There are two event options: a timed 5K and an untimed 5K for walkers. Registration opens March 31, 2026 and closes May 31, 2026. Registration fees are $30.00 for the timed event and $25.00 for the untimed event. Register by midnight June 25, 2026 to guarantee shirt size; after that shirts are available while supplies last and a NO SHIRT option is offered.
Packet pickup is available on July 2 and July 3 at the Babcock Ranch Lifestyles Office and on race day at Founders Square. Water stations are located at the midpoint of the course and at the finish. Restrooms are available in Founders Square. Free ample parking is available near the start area.
All participants receive a finisher medal. In-person awards are presented at the bandstand area with overall and age-group awards, including Masters, Grand Masters, and Senior Grand Masters categories. Awards will not be shipped. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
