Event Overview
The US Road Running race in Gadsden, Alabama, is a multi-distance running event held on a pea gravel trail. The event is hosted near the Gadsden Mall, with the staging area located behind the shopping center. Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
The competition features an out-and-back course format. For the 5K and 10K distances, runners complete a 1.56-mile circuit. The 5K participants complete this loop twice, while the 10K participants complete it four times. The Half Marathon uses a separate out-and-back circuit measuring 3.18 miles, which must be completed six times to reach the total distance.
Logistics and Rules
The race has a total time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes for all distances. Registration is managed through RunSignup, and there is no option for on-site registration. Packet pickup is conducted on the morning of the event at the race location.
Participants are encouraged to wear costumes, as a best costume award is presented at the beginning of the race. All finishers receive a medal upon completing their chosen distance.
