Course and logistics
The courses run on a pea gravel trail near the Gadsden Mall. Entrants are warned that GPS may direct them to a small building on Old S. 4th Street; if so, the instructions are to go south on Old S. 4th Street and turn right into the parking lot behind the mall.
Course layouts are described as out-and-back loops. For the 5K and 10K the listed loop is 0.78 miles (1.56 miles out-and-back); the 5K repeats that out-and-back twice and the 10K repeats it four times. The half marathon course shows a 1.09-mile loop (3.18 miles out-and-back) repeated six times. The event has a course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes.
