US Road Running - Hickory

Event Overview
The US Road Running event in Hickory, North Carolina, offers a series of timed races as part of the US Road Running Race Series. This event is open to all participants, with no membership required to compete. Registration must be completed online in advance, as there is no option for on-site registration.
Distances and Course
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5K: An out-and-back course completed twice.
- Half Marathon: An out-and-back course completed six times.
The 5K course is based on a 1.56-mile return loop, while the Half Marathon utilizes a 2.18-mile return loop. All events are subject to a course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes. The registration and starting line are located north of the VFW, near the intersection of 16th Ave Pl NW and 12th St Dr NW. Parking and restroom facilities are situated at the nearby trailhead.
Participation and Awards
Every finisher receives a themed medal upon completion of their race. While it is not mandatory, the organizers encourage runners to wear costumes. A group photo is taken before the start, and an award is presented for the best costume at that time. Results from this event contribute curiousity toward the US Road Running Race Series rankings.
