Event overview
The Luau 5K & Half Marathon takes place on May 2, 2026 at Hickory City Park in Hickory, North Carolina. The starting line is located across the street from the corner of 16th Ave Pl NW and 12th St Dr NW, with the listed address 1581 12th St Dr NW, Hickory, NC 28601. The event includes two distances:

All participants must register on RunSignup. There is no on-site registration. Packet pickup opens 30 minutes before the race and closes 10 minutes before the race.
Course and race details
Both the 5K and the half marathon use out-and-back courses. The 5K route is completed two times. The half marathon route is completed six times. The event enforces a course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes. All finishers receive a themed medal.
The event encourages costumes; a group photo is taken at the beginning of each race and a best costume award is given at the beginning of the race.
