Event Overview
The US Road Running Medal Madness event in Temple, Texas, features multiple distance options held at James Wilson Park. The event takes place on a paved course starting near the Wilson Park Recreation Center. All participants must register in advance through the online system, as there is no registration available at the venue on the day of the race.
Distances
- 5K: A single out-and-back loop totaling 3.11 miles.
- 10K: Two repetitions of the out-and-back loop.
- Half Marathon: Four repetitions of a specific 3.28-mile out-and-back loop.
Course Information
The courses are designed as out-and-back routes. For the 5K and 10K, the loop is approximately 1.56 miles in one direction. The Half Marathon utilizes a slightly different loop of 1.64 miles in one direction. There is a general course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes for all participants.
Race Day Logistics
Packet pickup is available at the race location starting 30 minutes before the event begins and concludes 10 minutes prior to the start. All finishers receive a medal upon completion of their distance. The event also features a best costume competition, and participants can earn points toward the US Road Running series.
