Event details
The Viking event at Crossroads Recreational Complex in Temple, TX includes four distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
All runners must register on RunSignup. There is no on-site registration. The event awards a themed finisher medal to all finishers. The race earns points toward the US Road Running Race Series. A best costume award is given at the beginning of each race and a group photo is taken at the start. There is a six hour course time limit.
Course and logistics
Courses are paved and set up as out-and-back routes. The 5K/10K course is described as 1.56 miles one way (3.11 miles round trip); the 5K runs the course once and the 10K runs it twice. The half marathon and marathon course is described as 1.64 miles one way (3.275 miles round trip); the half marathon runs this loop four times and the marathon runs it eight times. Packet pickup opens 30 minutes before the race and ends 10 minutes before the race. Bathrooms are located behind the tennis court.
