Event overview
The Medal Madness event at Crossroads Recreational Complex in Temple, Texas includes four distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon (13.1)
- Marathon (26.2)
All finishers receive a themed finisher medal. The race earns points toward the US Road Running Race Series. A costume contest is part of the event; a group photo is taken at the beginning of each race and a best costume award is given then.
Course and logistics
Courses are paved and use out-and-back loops. The 5K and 10K use the same loop; the 5K covers the loop once and the 10K twice. The half marathon and marathon use a separate loop that the half covers four times and the marathon covers eight times. The event has a six-hour course time limit. Restroom facilities are located behind the tennis court. Parking is available in the lot by the Crossroads Tennis Courts off Prairie View Road.
