Groundhog's Lap Race takes place on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Haw River State Park Iron Ore Belt Access, 6068 N Church Street, Greensboro, NC 27455. The event uses the Great Blue Heron Loop, a singletrack trail loop through the woods, approximately 3.2 miles per lap. Participants run repeatedly around the loop for a set time rather than for a set distance.

Entry fees and policies
Published entry fees are: 12 Hour Race $135, 12 Hour Relay $89, 6 Hour Race $69, and 3 Hour Race $59. Prices increase after November 30, 2025. If the race is canceled for reasons beyond the control of the race director or committee, refunds will not be issued; race packets, including shirts, will be made available at a location to be determined. Refund policy: no refunds within 30 days of the event; earlier than 30 days a request may be made for a 50% refund of the entry fee (processing fees excluded). Entries can be transferred to another individual for a $5 transfer fee. Entries cannot be transferred or deferred to another event or year.
