Grindleford Gallop

The Grindleford Gallop is an annual running and walking event held each March in the hills of the Peak District. The course is presented as a 21 mile challenge and is open to both runners and walkers.

Entry is managed through SIEntries and entries typically open in November. In recent years places have sold out quickly and the organisers do not operate a waiting list; places sometimes become available if entrants cancel.

Race administration and information materials are published before the event. Final race details were posted in March 2025, and the organisers publish race results and a gallery from previous years. For 2026 the event introduced staggered starts to reduce a bottleneck in the first wooded section and to offer a more relaxed start option for some participants.

The 2027 edition will take place on Saturday 13 March and will mark the event's 30th anniversary, with organisers planning additional activities to mark the milestone. The event has also offered event clothing such as T shirts and buffs in recent years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
