Event

The Pennine Bridleway PB18km Trail Running takes place on 14 March 2026. The event is a 18 km trail race on the Pennine Bridleway, running from Hayfield village to Rushup Edge and back. The route includes a combination of fast trails and ascents with a total ascent of 806 metres. The course is self-navigating with Pennine Bridleway finger posts to assist navigation. The event is organised by Rangers Expeditions & Ultras. Entries open 13 March 2025 and close 6 March 2026. Minimum age to enter is 18. Entry fees are £23 (affiliated) and £25 (unaffiliated). Entry requires a SiEntries account.

Practical information and kit

Race HQ is at Hayfield Cricket Pavilion, Hayfield, High Peak, SK22 2LD. Participants must complete registration and a compulsory kit check at Race HQ and present personal photo identification. Runners choose an individual start time within the event start window and must report at the course turn for a valid race time. There is an on-course aid station at the Rushup Edge halfway turn. Finishers receive refreshments at HQ and a finisher medal; trophies are awarded for 1st Male and 1st Female. A GPX file and navigation notes are provided to entered runners and verified results are published online within five days.

Mandatory kit includes a pack or bum bag, waterproof jacket with hood, warm mid-layer(s), suitable trail footwear, a hard copy map covering the route, whistle, emergency bivvy bag (foil blanket not acceptable), sufficient fluids and food, first aid/blister kit and a fully charged mobile phone with a standard UK SIM.
