Pennine Bridleway PB18km Trail Run

The PB18 is an 18 km trail run along the Pennine Bridleway from Hayfield village to Rushup Edge and back, held on 14 March 2026. The route features varied trail surfaces and a total ascent of 806 metres. Entrants use a flexible start window and run a staggered, self-navigating format aided by official Pennine Bridleway finger posts. Ranger Ultras Safety Team support will be available at race HQ and on course. The event is held under a Trail Running Association permit and England Athletics competition rules; participants must be at least 20 years old on race day.

The course includes an aid station at the half-way Rushup Edge turn. Results are based on recorded start and finish times from the staggered starts, so final placings may not be confirmed until all competitors finish.

Included for entered runners are navigation notes and a GPX file, on-course snacks, fruit and water at the race turn, and refreshments at race HQ including hot drinks and pizza. Finishers receive eco-medals and trophies are awarded to the first male and first female.

A compulsory kit check is carried out before the start. Minimum required kit includes a pack or bum bag, waterproof jacket with hood, warm mid-layer, appropriate trail footwear, a hard copy map (Harvey XT40 recommended), whistle, emergency bivvy bag (foil blanket not acceptable), sufficient food and drink, first aid/blister kit and a fully charged mobile phone with a standard UK SIM. Optional items listed by the organiser include GPS, over trousers, an unbreakable mug and walking poles. Race HQ is at Hayfield Cricket Pavilion, Hayfield, High Peak SK22 2LD. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
