Event overview
The Pennine Bridleway PB18km Trail Running takes place on 14 March 2026. The event distance is 18 km with a total ascent of 806 metres. It is organised by Rangers Expeditions & Ultras and has a minimum age of 18. Entry fees listed are £23 affiliated and £25 unaffiliated. Entries open 13 March 2025 and close 6 March 2026. The event uses a staggered, flexible start window so runners choose an individual start time; results are based on recorded individual start and finish times. There is an aid station at the Rushup Edge halfway turn. Finishers receive medals; trophies are awarded for 1st male and 1st female. Full verified results and winners are emailed to participants and published online within five days.
Course, logistics and kit
The course follows the Pennine Bridleway from Hayfield village to Rushup Edge and back. The route is self-navigating with Pennine Bridleway finger posts and navigation notes; a GPX file is provided to entered runners. Race HQ is at Hayfield Cricket Pavilion, Hayfield, High Peak, SK22 2LD. Ranger Safety Team support is provided at HQ and on course. Compulsory kit includes a pack or bum bag, waterproof jacket with hood, warm mid-layer, appropriate trail footwear, a hard copy map covering the race distance, whistle, an emergency bivvy bag (foil blanket not acceptable), sufficient food and fluids, first aid/blister kit and a fully charged mobile phone with a standard UK SIM.
