Pennine Bridleway PB18KM Trail Running
The Pennine Bridleway PB18KM is a trail running event held in the Peak District. The route starts in the village of Hayfield and follows the Pennine Bridleway to Rushup Edge before returning. The course covers a total distance of 18 km with a total ascent of 806 metres. It utilizes a combination of fast trails and uphill sections, offering runners views of the surrounding scenery.
Participants navigate the route using official Pennine Bridleway finger posts, as well as provided navigation notes and GPX files. The event features a staggered start format, allowing runners to begin within a specific time window, either individually or with friends. An aid station providing water, fruit, and snacks is located at the half-way turn at Rushup Edge.
Participants must be 18 years or older and are required to carry a compulsory kit, which includes:
- 18 km trail run
- Waterproof jacket with a hood
- Warm mid-layers
- Trail running footwear
- Hard copy Ordnance Survey or Harvey map
- Whistle and emergency bivvy or survival bag
- Mobile phone and sufficient fluids and food
Registration and kit checks take place at the Hayfield Cricket Pavilion. Upon finishing, runners receive a medal, and refreshments such as hot drinks and pizza are available at the event headquarters.
