Pennine Bridleway PB18km Trail Run
The PB18 Trail Run follows the Pennine Bridleway from historic Hayfield village to Rushup Edge and back, a route presented as an 18 km trail with a total ascent of 806 metres. The course combines fast trail sections, steeper ascents and open Peak District scenery. The event is described as a spring season, low-key trail race and can serve as a mini-recce opportunity for the Ranger Ultras PB270km.
Runners start within a flexible start time window and are expected to self-navigate; route finding is straightforward with official Pennine Bridleway finger posts. Ranger Ultras provides on-course and HQ safety support. The race is held under a Trail Running Association permit and England Athletics competition rules; participants must be 20 years of age or older on race day.
Included for entrants are navigation notes, on-course snacks, fruit and water, plus HQ refreshments such as tea, coffee and soft drinks and pizza. Finishers receive eco-medals and trophies are awarded to the first male and first female finishers. The 2027 edition is listed for Saturday 20 March 2027; the 2026 event was fully sold and places are limited by venue size. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
