PB50km Ultra – Ranger Ultras
The PB50 is a 50 km trail run on a grand loop of classic trails based out of the historic village of Hayfield. The course uses sections of the Pennine Bridleway, Pennine Way and Limestone Way and passes through Peak District scenery. Total ascent on the route is 1840 metres.
The event offers a flexible start time window and is self navigating with straightforward route finding on public rights of way. Official National Trail and local footpath finger posts are on the route. Ranger Ultras provide a Safety Team at race headquarters and on course. GPX files and navigation notes are supplied to entries.
The race is held under a Trail Running Association permit and in accordance with England Athletics competition rules. Participants must be 20 years of age or older on race day. Places are limited by venue size.
On course support includes snacks, fruit and water. At race headquarters there are hot drinks, soft drinks and pizza. Finishers receive eco medals and trophies are awarded to the first male and first female overall and to male and female age categories 20 to 49 and 50 plus.
A race brief and additional event information are provided to entrants. The event is presented in the Ranger Ultras low key format and is described as a one day loop suitable as a middle distance trail challenge and as an introduction to off road running.
