The Pennine Bridleway PB50km Trail Run

The PB50km Ultra is a trail running event based in the historic village of Hayfield. The course follows a loop that incorporates sections of the Pennine Bridleway, Pennine Way, and Limestone Way. Participants traverse a variety of terrain including fast trails and significant ascents through the Peak District scenery.

The event features a single distance:

  • 50 km

The route involves a total ascent of 1840 metres. This is a self-navigating race where runners follow public rights of way, aided by official National Trail and local footpath finger posts. The organizers provide navigation notes and a GPX file to registered participants. A safety team is present at the race headquarters and on the course to support runners.

The event is held in accordance with Trail Running Association (TRA) permits and England Athletics (EA) competition rules. Participants must be at least 20 years of age on the day of the race. On-course support includes stations providing snacks, fruit, and water. At the headquarters, runners have access to tea, coffee, soft drinks, and pizza. All finishers receive an eco-medal, and trophies are awarded to the first male and female finishers, as well as winners in the 20-49 and 50+ age categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
