Event

The Ranger Ultras PB50km Ultra is scheduled for Saturday 14 March 2026 and is based in Hayfield, High Peak (Race HQ: Hayfield Cricket Pavilion, SK22 2LD). The race uses a new 2026 loop course that follows sections of the Pennine Bridleway, Pennine Way and Limestone Way. Total ascent on the route is 1840 metres. Participants must be 20 years or older on race day.

Race details

The event offers a flexible start window and uses a time-trial staggered start format. The route is self-navigating on public rights of way with official National Trail and local footpath finger posts. Entrants receive navigation notes and a GPX file. On-course refreshments are provided at approximately 6 km, 25 km and 40 km. Race HQ provides hot drinks, soft drinks and pizza for finishers. Finishers receive eco-medals; trophies are awarded for 1st male, 1st female and male/female age categories 20-49 and 50+.

Entries open 13 March 2025 and close 6 March 2026. Entry fees listed are £49 (affiliated) and £47 (unaffiliated). There is a compulsory kit check at HQ; required items include a waterproof jacket with hood, warm mid-layer, head torch with backup, hard-copy map, whistle, emergency bivvy, sufficient food and fluids, a first-aid kit and a fully charged mobile phone.
