Ranger Ultras PB50km Ultra : event overview
The Ranger Ultras PB50km Ultra is a trail running event taking place on Saturday 14 March 2026. The race is a single-day, grand loop of approximately 50 km with total ascent of 1840 m. The event is based in Hayfield, High Peak, and the route uses sections of the Pennine Bridleway, Pennine Way and Limestone Way. The minimum age to enter is 20 or older. Entries open 13 March 2025 and close 6 March 2026. Entry fees are listed as £49 affiliated and £47 unaffiliated. At the time of publishing there are 8 participants entered.
Course, logistics and mandatory kit
The course runs through White and Dark Peak District on public rights of way. The event is self-navigating with finger posts on National Trails and local footpaths; navigation notes and a GPX file are provided to entered runners. Race headquarters is at Hayfield Cricket Pavilion in Hayfield. Registration check-in and a kit check are required at race HQ before starting; runners missing compulsory items will not be allowed to start.
Included support and services: Ranger Safety Team support, on-course refreshments at approximately 6 km, 25 km and 40 km, HQ refreshments and finishers eco-medals and eco-trophies for winners and age categories. Compulsory kit includes a race pack, waterproof jacket with hood, warm mid-layer, trail footwear, hard-copy Ordnance Survey type map, a primary head torch with suitable backup, whistle, emergency bivvy bag (not a foil blanket), sufficient food and fluids, first aid kit and a fully charged mobile phone with a UK network SIM.
