Event details

The Ranger Ultras PB50km Ultra is a 50 km trail run held on 14 March 2026 from a base in Hayfield, High Peak (Race HQ at Hayfield Cricket Pavilion, SK22 2LD). The route is a new grand loop for 2026 that uses sections of the Pennine Bridleway, Pennine Way and Limestone Way across White and Dark Peak areas of the Peak District. Total ascent on the course is 1840 m. The event is self-navigating on public rights of way with National Trail and local finger posts. Participants must be 20 years or older on race day. Entry fees listed are £47 affiliated and £49 unaffiliated.

Race logistics and mandatory kit

The race operates a flexible start window and a staggered time-trial format; official timekeeping is used and winners are confirmed after all runners finish. Included for entered runners: Ranger Safety Team support, navigation notes, and a GPX file. On-course refreshments are provided at approximately 6 km, 25 km and 40 km; HQ offers hot drinks and food. Finishers receive eco-medals and there are trophies for 1st male and 1st female plus male and female age categories 20-49 and 50+.

Mandatory kit to be worn or carried includes a race pack, waterproof jacket with hood, warm mid-layer(s), suitable trail footwear, a hard-copy Ordnance Survey type map, a head torch with spare power, whistle, emergency bivvy bag, sufficient food and fluids, a first-aid kit and a fully charged mobile phone with a standard UK SIM.
