Event overview
The Ranger Ultras PB50km Ultra is a 50 km trail race on Saturday 14 March 2026. The course is a new grand loop based from Hayfield, High Peak (Race HQ at Hayfield Cricket Pavilion, SK22 2LD) and follows sections of the Pennine Bridleway, Pennine Way and Limestone Way. Total ascent for the route is 1840 metres. The event is self-navigating on public rights of way with National Trail and local footpath finger posts. A flexible start window and staggered start format are used.
Race details and logistics
The event is held under a Trail Running Association permit and England Athletics competition rules; participants must be 20 years or older on race day. Included for entered runners: GPX file, navigation notes, Ranger Safety Team support at HQ and on-course, on-course refreshments and snacks at about 6 km, 25 km and 40 km, and food and drinks at HQ. Finishers receive eco-medals; trophies are awarded for 1st male and 1st female and for male and female age categories 20-49 and 50+. Entry fees shown are £49 (affiliated) and £47 (unaffiliated). A compulsory kit list is enforced at check-in and includes items such as a race pack, waterproof jacket, head torch with spare power, hard-copy OS map covering the course, whistle, emergency bivvy, sufficient food and fluids, first aid, and a fully charged mobile phone.
