Grewelthorpe Multi Terrain Race (GMTR)

The Grewelthorpe Multi Terrain Race is a single lap running event taking place in North Yorkshire. The course covers a distance of 13 km and features an undulating profile. Participants navigate a route that climbs above and descends back into the village of Grewelthorpe, located near Ripon and Masham. Due to the nature of the terrain, the course is not suitable for wheelchairs.

The event starts and finishes near the village, with the Race HQ situated at the St James and Methodist Church. The race has an entry limit of 139 participants. The course includes distance markers and water stations for the runners.

Facilities available at the site include:

  • Toilets
  • Changing facilities
  • Baggage storage

Upon finishing, runners receive bananas at the finish line. Post-race refreshments, including soup and flapjacks, are served at the Grewelthorpe Village Hall. The hall also serves as the location for registration and prize giving. A volunteer-run cafe is available on-site, offering sandwiches, cakes, and drinks for the duration of the event. While changing areas are provided, there are no shower facilities available at the venue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
