Punk Panther Takes the Hindmost

Event overview

Punk Panther Takes the Hindmost is an elimination ultramarathon held on 25 July 2026 at Swinsty/Fewston Car Park, North Lane, LS21 2NP. The course follows the reservoir paths around Swinsty and Fewston Reservoirs in a clockwise direction on the path nearest the water. Laps are approximately 10 km with about 375 ft of climb per lap. Maximum entrants are 30 and the minimum age is 18. The listed entry fee is £30. All finishers receive an event T-shirt and a medal; a trophy is awarded to the overall winner. There are no separate age or sex categories.

Format and logistics

Runners complete four qualifying laps before elimination laps begin. After the qualifying laps, the person who finishes last on each subsequent full lap is removed from the race until three runners remain; those three continue until a single runner remains. Every competitor has the opportunity to complete at least 52 km before elimination. Anyone taking more than 90 minutes for a lap will be eliminated during the main phase; different time limits apply once three runners remain. The route will not be taped. Provisional GPX files and a route description are provided and a final route version will be sent to competitors with the final race instructions.
