GreenFest on the Greenbelt (April 11, 2026)
GreenFest on the Greenbelt is a community festival and trail event held at FM 428 Greenbelt Park in Aubrey, Texas. The event is presented by the Greenbelt Alliance of Denton County, a nonprofit that raises funds for the Texas State Parks and Wildlife Department. Festival features include food trucks, vendors, and music. The event day includes a 1 Mile Fun Run, a 5K Trail Run, a 10K Trail Run, pre-race announcements, and an awards ceremony.
Race formats and race-day details
- 1 Mile Fun Run : route around the festival area.
- 5K Trail Run : almost entirely off-road, along the Greenbelt Trail and across Elm Fork Bridge.
- 10K Trail Run : longer trail route with some more technical sections.
Dogs on a leash are allowed on all courses; strollers are not allowed because much of the course is unpaved. Packet pick-up is available at the race site on Friday, April 10. All 5K and 10K participants receive a swag bag, an event t-shirt, a finisher medal, and finish-line refreshments. Prizes are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in age groups: 14 & under, 15-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, and 65 & over. Funds raised are used locally to improve the Greenbelt and Ray Roberts Lake State Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
