GreenFest on the Greenbelt

GreenFest on the Greenbelt is a community event focused on health, wellness, and recreation. It is organized by the Greenbelt Alliance of Denton County, a nonprofit organization. The goal of the event is to raise funds for the Texas State Parks and Wildlife Department, with funds used for improvements to the Greenbelt and Ray Roberts Lake State Park.

The event includes multiple trail runs at FM 428 Greenbelt Park in Aubrey, Texas.

  • 10K Trail Run
  • 5K Trail Run
  • 1 Mile Fun Run

The 5K course is almost entirely off-road, following the Greenbelt Trail, crossing the Elm Fork Bridge, and passing equestrian trails. The 10K includes sections considered more technical than the typical Greenbelt surface. The 1 Mile Fun Run takes place around the festival area.

Leashed dogs are permitted for all distances, but strollers are not allowed due to unpaved sections of the course.

Participants in the 5K and 10K receive a swag bag, event t-shirt, finisher medal, and finish line refreshments. Prizes are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three in multiple age groups for these two distances.

The event features food trucks, vendor booths, and music. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
