Run For Health 5K
Run For Health is an annual 5K run/walk that originates and finishes at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 18220 Upper Bay Road, Houston, TX. The race uses a USATF-certified course (TX15035 ETM) and electronic timing provided by Campbell Timing Systems; timing strips are affixed to race bibs and must be worn on the front of the shirt.
Prizes and awards include a $300 cash prize for the overall male and female winners, commemorative medals for every finisher, and trophies for the top three finishers in each of nine age divisions: under 10, 11–15, 16–21, 22–30, 31–40, 41–50, 51–60, 61–69, and 70+. The event features a vendor area with booths, giveaways, and on-site activities before and after the race.
Operational details include packet pick-up and late registration, pre-race announcements and stretch, and an awards presentation. Race restrictions require all participants to be registered; adults accompanying children on the course must also be registered. The course is closed to bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, and double-wide strollers. Animals are not permitted.
All proceeds from the event benefit Anchor Point, a community resource that serves families including pregnant teens and women, babies on the way, troubled youth and their families, foster and adopted children, and families considering adoption.
