Greek Festival Run & Walk

The Greek Festival Run & Walk takes place in New Orleans at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral along the bayou. This event is held during Memorial Day weekend and marks its 36th anniversary. It serves as a celebration of Greek culture and heritage, offering multiple event options for different age groups and interests.

Participants can choose from the following distances:

  • 5K
  • 1-Mile (Kids' Run)

The 5K course is a certified route that starts and finishes at the site of the New Orleans Greek Festival. In addition to the standard individual registration, there is a family registration option and a category for racewalkers. The 1-Mile Kids' Run is open to participants aged 13 and under.

The event includes several competitions and activities, such as a Toga Costume Contest and a Largest Team Competition. All registered participants receive a commemorative race shirt, a finisher medal, and a race bib with a timing chip.

A specific feature of this event is the transition from the race to the festival. A race bib provides participants with two free entries to the New Orleans Greek Festival and allows access to the grounds one hour before the official public opening. Post-race refreshments and awards are provided inside the festival grounds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
