Christmas in Lafreniere Park Run/Walk
This holiday run and walk takes place on December 13, 2025, in Lafreniere Park and follows a 2-mile course through the park that ends near the walking lights display. The event is commonly attended by families and often includes participants with strollers or children alongside them. Children ages 3 to 10 receive a $5 registration discount and children under 3 do not need to register to participate or to enter the park lights display.
Registration is tiered by date with nonrefundable entry fees and a $5 military discount available to eligible military members, veterans, dependents, and DOD employees. All registrants receive a race shirt, a commemorative bib, and complimentary entrance to both the walking and driving tours of the Christmas in Lafreniere Park Lights Display on race day.
Packet pick-up is offered on specified dates before the event at two local locations and on race day near the Al Copeland Concert Stage in the park. Pre-race activities include photos with Santa, a kids area with inflatables and face painting, refreshments, and seasonal music; costumes are encouraged. After the event, participants can view the park lights before the general public and food trucks will be available. Parking is available inside the park; if the gates are closed, parking outside with access through the walk-in gate at Downes Blvd is noted as an alternative.
The Lafreniere Park Holiday Lights Display features over 10 million LED lights, themed displays such as Hot Wheels and Hello Kitty figures, a large lighted sea serpent in the lagoon, a walk-through exhibit, and other seasonal decorations.
