NOAC Turkey Day Race

The NOAC Turkey Day Race is a historic athletic event in New Orleans, Louisiana. Established in 1907, it represents the fifth oldest continuous race in the United States. The event serves as a holiday tradition for families and individuals, with proceeds donated to Spina Bifida of Louisiana.

The race activities are centered at Tad Gormley Stadium, located within New Orleans City Park. Participants can take part in several different event categories held on Thanksgiving Day:

  • 5 Miles: A run, walk, or race walk through the park area.
  • 0.5 Miles: A dedicated distance for the Kids Run.

The event organization provides specialized registration options, including a package for families that includes race shirts and participation for two adults and household youth under age twenty. Race day logistics include packet pickup and late registration on-site at the stadium. An award ceremony takes place following the completion of the distances. The event is produced by the New Orleans Track Club with the support of members and volunteers.

Participants registering after specific deadlines are not guaranteed preferred t-shirt sizes or availability. Active members of the New Orleans Athletic Club are eligible for registration discounts when using their club credentials. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
