Event overview
The Great Eastern Endurance Run (GEER) takes place on November 1, 2025, at Sherando Lake Recreation Area near Lyndhurst, Virginia in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The event offers the following distances:

- 10 miles
The course is a mountain trail route composed mostly of single track and jeep roads, with very little pavement. Course features named by the organizer include Bald Mountain Jeep Road, ridgelines, and forest trails.
Course support and logistics
Aid stations and support vary by distance: the 40-mile course has 7 aid stations (not including start and finish), the 20-mile course has 2 aid stations, and the 10-mile course has 1 aid station. The longest unsupported stretch noted is 9.3 miles on the 20-mile course. Crew access is available at designated points reachable by vehicle via the Blue Ridge Parkway; one crew-only location is Bald Mountain Overlook.
Cutoff times are strictly enforced: a 12-hour cutoff for the 40-mile race and a 6-hour cutoff for the 20-mile race. Drop bag rules include a small backpack size limit, required labeling, and specific return times - Kennedy Trail bags return around 2 PM, Bald Mountain bags return after 4 PM and are not vehicle accessible. Unclaimed drop bags will not be shipped. Registration opens July 25 and closes October 31 at 11:00 PM ET; tiered entry fees are listed for each distance.
