About the race
RaceNM presents the Great Balloon Chase, a morning road race held in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Sunday, October 3, 2027. The event offers two distance options and takes place while hot air balloons from the world’s largest hot air ballooning event ascend into the sky.
Runners pass scenery framed by the Sandia Mountains and the Rio Grande River Valley. The combination of an organized road race and visible balloon launches characterizes the event setting and timing.
Distances available:
- ½ Marathon
- 5k
