Grape Day 5K
Grape Day 5K is an annual community 5k run and walk held in Escondido. The event benefits the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Pacific South Coast Chapter and the Escondido Sunrise Rotary. The 2026 edition marks the 16th year of the event and is scheduled for September 5, 2026.
The start and finish are located at Grape Day Park in Escondido. The course route includes Grand Avenue and segments through historic Escondido. The event offers both in-person and virtual participation; virtual participants complete a personal 5k before the live event date and receive the same event shirt and medal mailed to them if the event is held virtually.
Entry pricing is tiered: an early bird price of $35 ends June 30, followed by a regular 5k price of $40 and a race day price of $45. Prices include an entry, a t-shirt, and a medal. Awards are presented for first, second and third top times for male and female competitors in the following age divisions: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 plus.
Event operations proceed rain or shine and no refunds are issued. If the event cannot be held in person due to health guidelines, it will be run as a virtual event and shirts and medals will be mailed to participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
