Grant G. Talbott, III Memorial 5K Run/Walk
The event takes place on November 1, 2025 and is the 39th annual Grant G. Talbott Road Race. Proceeds support the Grant G. Talbott Scholarship for students with dire financial need. The event is presented by Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC) and is organized as a run-walk in memory of Grant G. Talbott, III.

Course, logistics and registration
The race is a point-to-point course that begins at Legion Park on East Byers Avenue and follows Veach Road to OCTC’s Main Campus, where the finish is located. Complimentary shuttles run between OCTC and the start at Legion Park, and participants are encouraged to park at OCTC’s main campus. Race day check-in and registration occur at OCTC on November 1, 2025. Pre-registered participants receive a commemorative t-shirt; to guarantee a shirt size, registration must be completed by October 12, 2025. Virtual participants are not eligible for race day awards.
Entry fees include an Early Bird rate of $25 through September 12, 2025 and a regular fee of $35. Current OCTC students have a $20 rate. A family of four rate is $80 with an additional $5 per extra family member when all entries are submitted together by October 6. Awards are given to overall male and female, Masters (40+), Grandmasters (50+), and top three male and female in multiple age groups from 14 and under through 70+. Door prizes and a $250 cash drawing require registration and presence to win. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
