Event overview
Heysen Trail Ultra is a point-to-point trail running event on the Heysen Trail from Rocky Creek (Kuitpo) to Victor Harbor, South Australia, held on 24 October 2026. The event includes single-day races and multi-day combinations that pair a Saturday distance with a Sunday distance. Routes pass through paddocks, pine forest, coastline and single-track climbs along the Heysen Trail.

Course profiles and navigator requirements
Several course profiles list elevation gain and loss (for example 115 km +2481 m / -2838 m; 70 km +1668 m / -1897 m; 50 km +1278 m / -1508 m). Interactive maps and GPX files are provided and runners are required to carry the GPX file on the Gaia Maps app during the event.
Aid stations, cutoffs and mandatory gear
Saturday events use nine aid stations; Sunday events use four. Aid stations provide at minimum sports drink, fruit, lollies, chips and some savoury food. The event is plastic-free; runners must supply their own water vessel. Mandatory gear for 22 km to 115 km includes a mobile phone with event number, GPX file, mini first aid kit, whistle, headlamp, waterproof seam-sealed jacket, spare batteries or power pack, high-vis vest, beanie or buff, gloves and a minimum 1,000 ml of liquids plus a keep cup or soft flask. Mandatory items for 13 km are a mobile phone, headlamp and 500 ml minimum liquids. Pacers are permitted only for the 115 km event from a designated aid station onward. Entries close 21 October 2026.
