Grand Ridge Trail Run
The Grand Ridge Trail Run is the final event of the Evergreen trail-running season. It takes place in Grand Ridge Park, located in the Cascade foothills, featuring deep forests known for ferns and mossy trees with golden fall colors. The park contains a connected network of trails developed by the Washington Trails Association.
Four distances are offered:
- 5-mile
- Half marathon (noted as being closer to 14 miles)
- Full marathon
- 50K
All distances start from the Highpoint Way Trailhead. The course consists of two distinct loops. The 5-mile event runs its own loop. The half marathon, full marathon, and 50K events share a longer half-marathon loop, with marathoners completing it twice and 50K runners completing two half-marathon loops plus the 5-mile loop. The trails include rocky, technical switchbacks and involve climbing. The trails remain open to other users, including pedestrians and cyclists.
The event is a cupless race, meaning runners are expected to carry their own refillable containers. Aid stations provide water, Tailwind, Clif products, PBJ sandwiches, fruit, cookies, crackers, and pretzels. Post-race, hot soup is provided at the finish line.
Finishers receive a piece of handmade swag. As part of the Evergreen series, it serves as the series awards finale. A free Woodland Speeders kids race on a 1.1-mile crushed gravel trail is also offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
