Event Overview
The Grand Ridge Trail Run takes place in Issaquah, Washington, serving as the final event of the Evergreen trail-running season. Set within the Cascade foothills, the race utilizes the trail system of Grand Ridge Park. The course travels through dense forests characterized by ferns, mossy trees, and autumn foliage. While the trails are professionally graded, the routes include significant elevation gain throughout the forest landscape.
Distance Options
Participants can choose from several distance categories:
- 50K: Includes two laps of the half-marathon course plus one lap of the 5-mile loop.
- Marathon: Consists of two laps of the half-marathon course.
- 1/2 Marathon: A single loop that measures approximately 14 miles.
- 5 Miler: A shorter loop designed for trail running.
- Kids Race: A dedicated event for younger participants.
Course Details
All distances begin at the Highpoint Way Trailhead. The initial half-mile follows the Issaquah-Preston Trail before transitioning into a climb featuring rocky and technical switchbacks. At the course junction, the 5-mile route splits into its own loop.
Runners in the longer distances continue climbing Grand Ridge, incorporating a detour onto the Flowing Fir Trail. The route proceeds to the Duthie Aid Station before returning toward the start area. Registration for the event remains open until the day before the race.
