Government Peak Endurance 100 Mile and 50 Mile
The Government Peak Endurance event is a pair of ultramarathons held at Government Peak Recreation Area near Palmer, Alaska. The races are part of the Midnight Sun Endurance Festival and use a looped trail format of approximately 3 miles per loop through singletrack, rolling climbs, and runnable sections.
Each loop returns runners to a central aid station located at the event hub. The hub is a fully stocked support area offering electrolytes including LMNT and Tailwind, real food and snacks, crew access on every loop, medical support, and on site music and activity. Crew, pacers, and family members can remain near the hub for frequent contact and pacing transitions.
The festival setting includes multiple concurrent events, a vendor village, food trucks, and recovery amenities such as ice baths and pending sauna services. Athletes compete across disciplines while races continue on the looped course, producing frequent interaction between competitors, crews, and spectators.
Both race options follow the same loop format; the difference between them is the number of loops completed. Runners must manage pacing, fueling, and recovery while repeatedly returning to the central hub throughout the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
