Seaside Course and Event Details
The Gosport Half Marathon is an annual road running event that follows a flat and fast 13.1-mile course. The route consists of two laps and features a significant stretch along the Lee-on-the-Solent promenade, offering views across the water to the Isle of Wight. The event is part of the Hampshire Road Race League and is held under UK Athletics rules.
Participants pass through several spectator points, including the Hovercraft Museum and Monks Hill. To support runners, five water stations are located along the course, and a Samba Drum Band performs at the four-mile and 10.5-mile marks. The race is supported by over 200 marshals and volunteers from the local community.

The half marathon is open to runners aged 17 and over. Due to the course layout, which include sections of road not wholly closed to traffic, the event is not suitable for wheelchair athletes. In accordance with UKA rules, only bone-conducting headphones are permitted; any headphones that sit in or on the ears are prohibited.
Race headquarters are located at the Kings Academy Bay House Sports Centre, which provides facilities such as changing rooms, toilets, supervised bag storage, and sports massage services. Race numbers must be collected in person at the headquarters either the day before the race or on the morning of the event. All finishers receive a medal and a goody bag.
Parking and Transport
Main event parking is situated in Browndown Road, with alternative parking available at Stokes Bay and Lee-on-the-Solent. The start and finish lines are located on Browndown Road, approximately 140 meters from the race headquarters. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
