Gormire Gamble Fell Race
Gormire Gamble Fell Race is an FRA BS category fell race held at Sutton Bank Visitor Centre in the North York Moors National Park, YO7 2EH. The course is 9 km with approximately 250 m of climb and is classed as partially marked. Competitors must visit all checkpoints and demonstrate navigational skills; local knowledge is an advantage and GPS navigation is not permitted.
The route starts on road near the Visitor Centre and follows a mix of road and trail, with tree branches, roots and mud likely on sections of the course. The event is held under Fell Runner Association rules; participants are responsible for being suitably prepared and knowledgeable for fell running.
Required kit follows the FRA mandatory minimum and includes a waterproof whole-body cover with taped seams and an attached hood, hat, gloves, map of the route and compass, whistle and emergency food. The organiser will confirm which items entrants must carry on the day and random kit checks will be carried out. Participants are not permitted to run with dogs or bicycles.
The race is the second counter in the Dave Parry / Lets Run Winter Fell Race Series 2026/27. Entry minimum age is 18. Entry fees are listed for FRA members and non-members, with an additional charge where winter series registration or a race number is not held. Parking charges apply at the Visitor Centre.
