Thirsk 10 Fun Run
The Thirsk 10 Fun Run is a cross-country running event held in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. This run is specifically designed for children of all ages and takes place on the grounds of the Thirsk Racecourse. Participants complete a single lap on a course that is approximately 1.5 miles in length.
The route consists of a flat grassy loop around the racecourse area. While the profile is flat, the surface can be bumpy in certain sections. Due to the natural terrain and the cross-country nature of the path, the course is not suitable for wheelchairs.
Event headquarters are located at Thirsk Racecourse on Station Road. Participants are required to register and collect their race numbers at this location before heading to the starting line, which involves a short walk from the headquarters. Facilities provided at the racecourse HQ include toilets, though there are no changing rooms, showers, or dedicated baggage storage areas available on-site. There are no water stations or distance markers along the route.
The event is organized by the Thirsk & Sowerby Harriers and has a total entry limit of 60 participants. Parents are required to accompany children at all times and have the option to run alongside younger participants. Every finisher receives a medal and an Easter egg upon completing the course.
