Thirsk 10
The Thirsk 10 is a road race held on Sunday 14th March 2027. The event offers a measured, flat and fast ten mile course run fully on roads. The route is suitable for wheelchairs and includes mile markers. It starts on Newsham Road, passes Sandhutton, Busby Stoop and Carlton Miniott, and finishes on the racecourse. England Athletics will formally measure the route and a new course record may be set.
Entries are limited to 1000 runner and wheelchair athlete places and must be made via the Racebest booking platform. Online entries close 12th March 2027 and there are no entries on the day. Entry fees include a T shirt option; entrants who want a guaranteed T shirt must enter by 31st January 2027. Entries cannot be refunded or deferred, but entries can be transferred to another runner up to 14 days before the race.
Facilities at Race HQ include toilets and refreshments; there are no showers. Free accessible parking is provided with specific parking instructions; cars parked at the racecourse cannot be moved until 12:00 for safety. Baggage storage is available but not manned and is left at the owner’s risk. AED medical cover will be in attendance.
Race rules and safety notes include keeping to the left, obeying marshals, and that ordinary headphones are banned while running; bone conduction headphones are permitted under UK Athletics guidelines. Dogs and pushchairs are not allowed. Water is provided at around 3 miles, 6 miles and at the finish. There is a five mile cutoff of 75 minutes; entrants not making this may not be allowed to continue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
