Event Overview
The Gorham 4-Miler is a running race held in Gorham, Maine. The event starts and finishes at the Gorham Recreation Department located at Ball Park Road. The course covers a distance of 4 miles, and walkers are also permitted to participate in the event.
Registration and Participation
Early registration is available with tiered pricing based on the date of entry. Registration fees increase as the event date approaches, with options for pre-registration as well as race day registration. Participants who register by late May are guaranteed an event shirt. Please note that the organizers maintain a no-refund policy. In the instance of severe weather or public health restrictions, the race may be moved to an alternate date or converted into a virtual format where participants submit their own results.
Awards and Amenities
The event features a variety of awards and amenities:
- Cash prizes are awarded to the overall winners.
- Age category awards are provided in ten-year increments, starting from 14 and under up to 80 and over.
- Team awards are available for Top Running Clubs, Corporate Teams, and Open Teams with four or more members.
- Complimentary pizza is provided for participants by the Gorham House of Pizza after the race.
Community Impact
The proceeds from this event benefit the Stephen Gordon Ward Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship was established in honor of a Gorham High School graduate and victims of the September 11 attacks.
