Frantic Frog Spring Sprint Triathlon and 5k
The Frantic Frog Spring Sprint Triathlon and 5k takes place on May 23, 2026, at Goose Pond Colony Resort in Scottsboro, Alabama (417 Ed Hembree Drive, Scottsboro, AL 35769). The event program includes Sprint Triathlon Individual, Sprint Clydesdale, Sprint Athena, Sprint Triathlon Relay, Sprint Aquabike, and a 5k Run/Walk. A 5k has been added and uses the same route as the triathlon run portion. The 5k does not require a USA Triathlon (USAT) membership.
Course, logistics and rules
Distances:
- 500 meter swim
- 14 mile bike
- 5K run
The swim starts at the end of the pier on a rectangular course with a beach exit. The bike and run are out-and-back routes; the run goes into the campground and returns to the finish at the transition area. Packet pickup is scheduled Friday 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Saturday 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM at the grassy area outside the Docks Restaurant; participants should park on the north side of the pool and avoid the transition area. Participants must be checked in by 7:30 AM and transition closes at 7:45 AM.
All triathlon events are sanctioned by USA Triathlon and USAT rules apply. Participants must purchase a one-day or annual USAT license where required. Race packets include a race t-shirt and a swim cap that must be worn; finisher medals are provided to all finishers. Bald Eagle Events enforces a no refund and non-transferable entry policy; event insurance is offered during registration.
