Frantic Frog Fall Sprint Triathlon and 5k
The Frantic Frog Fall Sprint Triathlon and 5k takes place on September 19, 2026, at Goose Pond Colony Resort in Scottsboro, Alabama (417 Ed Hembree Drive). The event program includes a sprint triathlon with individual, Clydesdale, Athena, relay, and aquabike divisions, plus a separate 5k Run/Walk.
Race format and courses
The sprint triathlon consists of:
- 500 m swim
- 14 mile bike
- 5K run
The swim begins at the end of the pier on a rectangular course with a beach exit. The bike and run are both out-and-back courses; the run goes into the campground and returns to the finish by transition. The 5k uses the same run route as the triathlon run. Race packets include a race t-shirt and a swim cap, and swim caps must be worn.
USAT rules apply for the triathlon events. The 5k does not require a USA Triathlon membership. One-day and annual USAT license options are offered for triathlon participants.
Logistics, entries and awards
Packet pickup is available the day before and on race morning at the grassy area just outside the Docks Restaurant; participants should park on the north side of the pool and avoid parking by the transition area. Participants must check in on race morning and transition closes before the race start. Entries are non-transferable and there is a no refund policy; event insurance is offered during registration. In case of a natural or community disaster, organizers will work with local officials to alter courses or make other safety decisions.
Awards include overall top three male and female finishers, top male and female masters, age group awards for first through third in listed age categories, top three Clydesdale and Athena, and open relay division awards for male, female, and co-ed teams.
